Another Handy Little Book by Dyer by Janet Boyer (Pennsylvania)

Customers Rating: ★★★★★

“One of the highest places you can get to is to be independent of the good opinions of others.” – Dr. Wayne Dyer Internationally renowned author and lecturer Dr. Wayne Dyer teaches extensively on the power of intention, cultivating an abundance mentality, releasing the past, and following intuition. In his book Everyday Wisdom for Success, Dr. Dyer provides 216 bite-sized offerings designed to encourage these ideas, as well as optimism, fearlessness, and present moment awareness. He teaches that the path of success doesn’t exist, because success is an inner attitude that we bring to all our endeavors.

A few of the wise nuggets you’ll find in this book include:

“The two most unnecessary emotions in life are guilt and worry.”

“The highest form of ignorance is to reject something you known nothing about.”

“Your reputation is in the hands of others. That’s what a reputation is. You can’t control that. The only thing you can control is your character.”

“Regardless of how absurd your inner callings might seem, they’re authentically yours. The willingness to listen and act on your inspiration, independent of the opinions of others, is imperative.”

“Your ability to be a winner 100 percent of the time is based upon giving up the notion that losing at anything is equivalent to being a loser.”

“Self-worth cannot be verified by others. You’re worthy because you say it is so. If you depend on others for your value, it is `other-worth’.”

“The opposite of courage is not so much fear as it is conformity.”

“If you want to find deeper meaning in your life, you can’t find it in the opinions or the beliefs that have been handed to you. You have to go to that place within yourself.”

“A sense of purpose is not something that you find; it’s something that you are. Truth is not something that you look for; it’s something that you live.”

“No one can create negativity or stress within you. Only *you* can do that by virtue of how you process your world.”

Culled from sources such as Dr. Dyer’s card decks and books like Being in Balance and Staying on the Path, Everyday Wisdom for Success is a small book that encourages big ideas and a wide-open heart. Promoting self-reliance and self-determination, this book reminds us of the power of service, optimism, enthusiasm, and imagination. While I prefer his book Everyday Wisdom, Everyday Wisdom for Success is still a great gem for defining success on your own terms and forging a life filled with creativity.

Great quick reference for positive insight! by CB (Aurora, Colorado)

Customers Rating: ★★★★☆

If you’re familiar with Dr. Wayne Dyer’s works then you already know what to expect in this little book. It’s a great quick reference with pages full of practical and thought provoking advice which focuses on how we “choose” to live our lives. As with all Dyer’s work, it places the responsbility of finding happiness in our hands and reminds us all that we are merely victims of our own mind. This is book is great as a gift.
